90's Vibin'

Happy New Year Loves!

Hoping you all had a blessed one and that you're ready for all the blessings and great things to come in 2017! God knows I am. Today's post is all about the 90's era. It's no secret that 90's fashion has come back around full circle...from chokers, to fedoras, billowy silhouettes, lace, floral's, etc. As an ode to the 90's I compiled a few of my favorite things from that era.

1.) R&B Groups

90's R&B is when I truly fell in love with music. Music back then had value and substance. During this era some of my fave groups like Jodeci, Boys II Men, En Vogue, 112, SWV, Dru Hill, TLC, and 702, were born. I tell you they don't make R&B music like that anymore.

2.) Sitcoms

  • Martin is the best show EVER...hands down. This is not up for debate...period. :-)  I can watch re-runs all day long! I literally have gut busting laughs every time I watch an episode and no matter how many times I've seen the episode I always catch something else that I missed the first time around.
  • Living Single was also my jam, for me it was a great representation of sisterhood.
  • Different World was also another fave, it provided exposure to the college experience and all throughout middle school and part of high school you could not tell me I wouldn't be attending an HBCU. Although, I did not it definitely served as inspiration.

3.) Fashion

This definitely wasn't my all around favorite era for fashion but I adore some of the accessories used (i.e. chokers, hats, etc.).

What are some of your favorite things from the 90's era?
